Reminder to get your flu vaccine before the flu gets you!
Health screenings (height, weight, vision) are completed annually for every student. Only 11th grade students will have their hearing screened. Due to the nature of scheduling at the high school, this is an ongoing year long process. Forms will be mailed home upon completion of your child's screen. If your son/daughter does not pass any portion of the screen, an additional document will be enclosed for his or her physician to fill out. In the event that your child does not pass a portion of the screen, please schedule a referral appointment as soon as possible and forward documentation to the school nurse.
A physical is required for every 11th grade student. The physical examination form can be downloaded from a link on this page. The school physician, Dr. DeFranco, will be visiting the high school to perform physical examinations for any 11th grade student in the spring. If you would like your child to be seen by Dr. DeFranco, a signed consent needs to be returned to the school.
To assist students with common complaints and minor injuries, the district physician, Dr. DeFranco, has authorized a standing medication order. Written parental permission is required. This form must be signed and returned to the school in order for your child to receive any of the ordered medications. Please note, this authorization is only valid for the current school year and must be completed every school year.If you will not be available to pick up your sick child, please have an alternate plan in place with a responsible adult who is able to pick up the student if necessary.
We ask that your son/daughter stay home if they are sick, especially fever, vomiting, diarrhea or disruptive cough. Your child should be vomiting, diarrhea, and fever free (without medications) for at least 24 hours before returning to school. We encourage good handwashing and respiratory etiquette all year long, not just during flu season.
A healthy breakfast is necessary in order to be ready to learn. Please encourage good nutrition at home.
