Superintendent

Welcome from the Superintendent

I am honored to serve as Superintendent of Schools for the Bangor Area School District, a place that has been both my foundation and professional home. As a proud alumnus of BASD, I began my journey here as an elementary teacher in 2003. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles, from Assistant Principal to Principal, and later, as Director of Human Resources and Assistant to the Superintendent for District Operations. These experiences have strengthened my connection with our students, staff, and community.

With a personal understanding of Bangor Area School District’s rich heritage, my team and I are committed to expanding our tradition of "Slater Pride" in every classroom, on every stage, and across our playing fields. Our dedicated and highly trained staff are focused on equipping every child with the tools and skills they need to reach their fullest potential.

I believe that student success is best achieved when schools and families work together. By building strong partnerships with parents and guardians, together, we will ensure that every student thrives. I encourage families to advocate for their child by engaging in proactive communication with our team, so we can provide the best possible support.

 Sincerely,

Braden Hendershot, Ed.D.
